I will make something every day, for a year, and post it here. There is no theme, subject matter, or great social commentary I plan to focus on. Whatever pops into my head is what you get. Whatever I'm going through is my commentary. Suggestions, praise, constructive criticism, and notes of adoration are appreciated, but not expected. I'm following Noah Scalin's book "365:A Daily Creativity Journal" for inspiration and plan to complete each day's exercise and post my art here. Bon appetit!

Day 6 - 4 Servings A Day
"Look in the kitchen and work with the first fruit or vegetable you spot." This was an easy one because I always have fresh fruit and veggies on hand. I've had a bag of googly eyes I bought at the dollar store sitting around for a few months and had absolutely no use for them until now. (Except for one annonymous incident at my workplace, the perpetrators of which shall remained unnamed) These little guys have been on the window sill since this morning- wonder how long they'll remain? P.S. My favorite is the little tomato.

Day 5 - Keys
"What do you collect? Work with a collection of objects you have in your home (or borrow a friend's if you like)."
I collect very few things on purpose. I've had this collection of old keys sitting in my room for a few years now and never have done anything with them. Originally I wanted to combine them with my collection of wine corks (which I save after drinking a bottle) and make some sort of funky, decorative mobile out of them. That didn't end up happening because I got distracted by Oreos and the season premiere of "Bethanny Ever After" on Bravo. Anyhow. This is what I came up with; it is a paintbrush holder. It's simple, but crafty (kinda). Martha Stewart would be unimpressed I'm sure.

Day 4 - Found Objects
Tonight I took a walk around downtown Newburgh with Jason. The objective was to find random objects and make something out of them. I got bonus points for leaving my creation in a public space for someone else to find. I took it a step further and left a little note saying "If you found this, you are part of an art project! Please visit 'whitneymadethis.blogspot.com." I'm hoping they do and let me know what they think!
It was about 10pm, windy, and raining when we went on this venture, but I think it was worth it. We made a great memory and hopefully we can make someone smile whenever they come across this. It was left in the red telephone booth next to the old Newburgh library.

Day 3 - Paper,paper,paper
The assignment: "Make something out of paper, but don't use scissors or glue or draw on it." It mentions nothing about staples. I used lots of them.
